The European Parliament voted to approve the EU carbon border tax, imposing carbon dioxide costs on imports of steel, cement, aluminum, fertiliser, electricity and hydrogen. The parliament supports the European Union to reduce carbon market emissions by 62% from 2005 levels by 2030 and to end free quotas for industrial carbon dioxide emissions by 2034.
