China signs free trade agreement with Ecuador

[China and Ecuador sign Free Trade Agreement] May 11-according to the website of the Ministry of Commerce, on May 11, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Ecuadorian Minister of production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries Prado, on behalf of their respective governments, formally signed the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the people's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador. The signing of a China-Ecuador free trade agreement is an important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. The negotiations started in February 2022 and ended in February 2023 after a year of efficient consultations. Through the free trade agreement, China and Eritrea will open up to each other at a high level, create a more preferential, convenient, transparent and stable business environment for enterprises, further stimulate the potential for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, and promote the all-round upgrading of economic and trade cooperation between China and Eritrea. We will promote the sustained, stable and diversified development of bilateral trade, and constantly enhance the well-being of the people and enterprises of the two countries. After the signing of the agreement, the two sides will respectively implement their respective domestic procedures and promote the early entry into force of the agreement.
