Nature publishes the first draft of the human pan-genome to depict genetic diversity more fully. The first draft of the human pan-genome was published by the Human Pan Genome reference Union (Human Pangenome Reference Consortium) on May 10, local time. Four related papers have been published, three in Nature and one in Nature Biotechnology (Nature Biotechnology). This study added 119 million base pairs (two complementary pairs of bases in the double helix of DNA) and 1115 gene duplications to the current human reference genome (GRCh38), resulting in two new discoveries. In the future, the program aims to observe and depict the genetic diversity of 350 individuals.
