Trump was convicted of paying 5 million dollars to female writers for sexual assault.

Xinhua News Agency, May 10 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- according to BBC, a jury in federal court in Manhattan ruled that former US President Donald Trump sexually abused a magazine columnist Carroll in a New York department store in the 1990s and was ordered to pay $5 million in compensation. The jury found Trump responsible for Carroll's sexual abuse and libel, but they did not hold Trump responsible for rape, the report said. Trump slandered Carroll in an October 2022 post in which he called her accusations a "hoax". For sexual abuse, the jury awarded Carroll $2 million and $20, 000 in punitive damages. For libel, jurors awarded $1 million in damages for Trump's October post and a further $1.7 million and $280000 in punitive damages for damaging Carroll's reputation. This is the first time a US president has been convicted of sexual assault. In response, Trump posted that the jury's verdict was "a complete disgrace" and said it was "a continuation of the greatest political persecution in history." He also said he had no idea who Carol was.
