South Korea and Japan plan to establish an ICT ministerial consultation mechanism this year to discuss cooperation in artificial intelligence, software and other fields. According to Yonhap news agency, the South Korean and Japanese ICT departments have initiated relevant preparations for the establishment of an ICT ministerial regular consultation mechanism by the end of the year. To this end, Park Yunkyu, the second official (vice minister) of South Korea's Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communications, will visit Japan at the end of the month to hold a working meeting with his Japanese counterpart, the Vice Minister of General Affairs. Park Yoon-kyu said that specific cooperation topics have not yet been finalized, but the two sides are expected to discuss cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence and software mentioned in the South Korean-Japanese summit.
