The 12th meeting of the expert Group on the Border between China and Bhutan was held and the two sides agreed to hold the twenty-fifth round of China-Bhutan border talks as soon as possible at their convenience.

The 12th meeting of the China-Bhutan Border expert Group was held in Budan Thimphu from 24 to 25 May. The Chinese delegation is led by Hong Liang, director of the Department of Boundary and Marine Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Chinese delegation is led by Ledo Tangbi, Secretary-General of International Border Affairs of Bhutan. The two sides expressed confidence in the "three-step" road map and reaffirmed the importance of increasing the frequency of expert group meetings in order to promote greater progress in the implementation of the "three-step" road map. The two sides agreed to hold the next expert group meeting in Beijing as soon as possible. The two sides also agreed to hold the 25th round of Sino-non-border talks as soon as possible at their convenience.
