[FDA officially approves Paxlovid, a therapeutic drug for COVID-19] according to CNBC, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) formally approved Pfizer's novel coronavirus infection drug Paxlovid on Thursday. Previously, FDA granted emergency use authorization to the drug in December 2021. The drug is specially recommended for people over the age of 50 and those infected with novel coronavirus who suffer from underlying diseases.
